Assistant Manager, Actuarial (IFRS 17)

To assist manager/senior manager in managing the responsibilities and deliverables within the following areas, including but not limited to, financial and management reporting for IFRS 17, financial projections, business plan, process automation and improvements, seamless BAU reporting after system upgrade, actuarial support in IFRS 9.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and perform IFRS 17 financial results and corresponding analysis as needed.
- Prepare and develop source of earnings analysis to provide insight on inforce profitability.
- Prepare appropriate data and SoX controls for reporting process
- Perform sensitivities and budget work per expected timeline
- Help in support initiatives of various actuarial processes improvements per plan of company’s internal projects and strategies as needed, including actuarial process around data, models, projections and reporting results.
- Prepare and perform changes in the reporting framework and process as needed due new products or improvements being identified.
- Provide and maintain necessary documentation for internal or external audits
- Provide actuarial Support in IFRS 9 as required (e.g. actuarial data requirement, credit loss models and processes)
- Provide necessary support being the specified point of contact for valuation wing for data for various system upgradation projects
- Participate in other ad hoc actuarial projects from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial or equivalent education
- 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in the insurance industry
- Good progress in actuarial exams, FSA or equivalent
- Knowledge in computer programming, esp. VBA in Access and Excel, power point.
- Actuarial software programming in RAFM or Prophet
- Experience in IFRS 4/ IFRS 17 reporting as well as US GAAP
- Strong background of working on new initiatives / implementations
- Experience in working on a project basis with cross-functional / external vendor involvement
- Working with cross-functional stakeholders, especially Finance and IT
- Good problem solving & analytical skills
- Independent, self-motivated and responsible

- Strong attention to detail and desire to produce a high quality work product and learn
